In any emergency, call your local emergency number first (911 in the US, 999 in the UK, 112 in the EU, or your local equivalent). Guardian does not contact emergency services for you.
Guardian is an informational tool that lets you share an emergency profile via a personal QR code. It is intended to give people helping you faster access to information you have chosen to make available. It is not a substitute for emergency services, medical care, identification, insurance cards, or any other primary document.
What Guardian does
- Stores the emergency information you choose to enter.
- Generates a personal Emergency QR you can print or carry.
- On a scan of an active QR, displays only the fields you have marked visible.
- Lets you rotate or revoke your QR at any time from your account.
What Guardian does not do
- It does not contact 911, dispatchers, or any emergency service.
- It does not provide medical, legal, or any other professional advice.
- It does not guarantee that any responder, hospital, employer, coworker, family member, or third party will scan your QR, see your profile, understand it, or act on it.
- It does not replace medical alert bracelets, official identification, insurance cards, or any document required by a hospital or government agency.
- It cannot guarantee internet, cellular, or device availability at the moment of a scan.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your profile accurate and up to date. Outdated medical or contact information could be misleading in an emergency.
- Choose carefully which fields you mark visible. Visible fields are returned to anyone who scans your active QR.
- Rotate your QR if you lose a printed copy or believe it has been shared in a way you did not intend.
- Continue to carry any identification, insurance card, or medical alert device your situation requires.
